Assessment & Evaluation

Assessment & Evaluation

“Assess what you teach by the methods you teach it.”

This quote from an unknown source sums up my philosophy of what assessment and evaluation should look like in our classrooms.  I believe assessments should be ongoing, formative, and authentic in our day-to-day teaching and that they should ultimately be used to guide our instruction.  For this reason, my assessment techniques involve conferring with individual students, taking running records, recording anecdotal notes, and lots of reflection on the part of my students and myself.  Below are links to many of my assessment and evaluation tools.  Feel free to download them for use in your classroom or adapt them to meet your own needs.
