Fluency Development Lesson

This is probably my favorite fluency-building activity.  I first learned about the Fluency Development Lesson when I attended a Tim Rasinski workshop.  I have used this technique for years and have found it be so effective.  In fact, I am convinced that some of my struggling readers’ reading success is due in large part to this technique.  Click on the link below for detailed instructions:

You can use any short text for the FDL.  I use poems from our Poetry Notebooks.
