My name is Annemarie Johnson and I have a passion for teaching–teaching children and teaching teachers. It is for this reason that I spend my time working in classrooms and presenting seminars, workshops, and conferences for teachers. One of my greatest joys is being able to motivate children to want to learn. Another is being able to help teachers bring the joy back into their own teaching. I consider myself a “teacher’s teacher.”
Teaching Experience
This is my 23rd year in the field of education. I spent my first ten years teaching in an elementary school in the Canton City School District in Canton, Ohio. I spent the next five years just south of Akron, Ohio teaching in the Green Local School District. At the end of those five years, my husband was transferred to the metro Detroit, MI area where we now reside. During our last year in Ohio, I began to wear two professional hats–elementary teacher and educational consultant. After the move I began to focus more exclusively on consulting. During this time I have had the opportunity to travel all across the United States and Canada and work with thousands of teachers. I have presented seminars for teachers on a huge variety of topics focusing mostly on literacy.

Personal
I have been married to my husband Rick for over 19 years. All who have met him know that his blood is scarlet and gray, an Ohio State Buckeye to the core–he even proposed to me at an Ohio State football game! We have three children: a 15-year-old daughter, 13-year-old son, and a 9-year-old son. They keep us very busy! One of our favorite family activities is traveling the U.S. in our travel trailer. This past summer we completed our 6th annual summer road trip and traveled west to places like Mount Rushmore, the Badlands, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Arches, Mesa Verde, and many more. We are up to 42 states and counting!
