Wordless Picture Books

Wordless picture books can be great tools for teaching organization. The story is already organized in the pictures—the students just provide the words. This activity works better as an oral language activity than as a written one. As students are telling the story, encourage them to tell about the characters, setting, plot, problem, solution, etc. and to use transition words to link ideas and sentences together.
