Literacy coaching

A differentiated approach to professional development often involves some form of coaching. We coach individuals during 1:1 coaching cycles or small group cohorts through grade level-learning labs. Coaching is usually combined with other PD services and allows teachers who are ready for the next steps to soar!

Onsite Seminars

We offer traditional professional development in the form of full-day/half-day sessions with a single focus or 60-90 minute conference breakout sessions.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

-Reading Workshop

-Writing Workshop

-Word Study / Spelling / Phonics / Science of Reading

-Conferring with Readers and Writers

-Small Group Instruction

-Conferring Toolkits

-Using Mentor Texts to Improve Student Writing

-Balanced Literacy Components

-Using Reading Assessments to Drive Instruction

Job-Embedded
Professional Learning

While traditional professional development can plant seeds and provide a strong foundation, many schools choose to go deeper with additional forms of professional learning. Integrated learning labs are one popular option.

Learning labs consist of three components: a prebrief, demonstration teaching and/or classroom practice, and a debrief. Teachers usually tout this form of PD as the most beneficial and longest lasting learning.

Building Walkthrough
and Consultation

Assessment is the key to all teaching and learning–including professional learning. An onsite building walkthrough by our team allows us to customize your school’s PD plan and tailor it to your exact needs.

We include an onsite or remote consultation with the administration team following the walkthrough. This service is complimentary to schools who purchase the Digging Deeper Plus level of our Virtual PD Vault Membership.

TESTIMONIAL

When we first began to explore how to build a strong reading program that implemented best practices we turned to Teacher2Teacher Help. Annemarie and Jenna patiently explored our learning environment by observing our current classroom practices, interviewing faculty and then providing a summary for an approach to begin professional development. I am very satisfied with the plan that was used and have appreciated the flexibility to adjust as we implemented the professional development model.
Our school is a better school today, reflecting the best practices Annemarie and Jenna have modeled. Our teachers have embraced the shift in our philosophy of ELA because Annemarie and Jenna provided research-based data to support the transition, and they modeled it so well for teachers to learn.
